KATHMANDU: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Friday called 48 players for the first-round camp for the AFC Challenge Cup Group D qualifiers to be held in Kathmandu from March 21-25. Krishna Thapa has been named as the chief coach, while Meghraj KC is assistant coach and Upendra Man Singh the goalkeeping coach. The squad includes 10 from Nabil Three Star Club, eight from Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi Club, seven each from Nepal Police Club and Himalayan Sherpa Club, five from Tribhuvan Army Club, three from New Road Team, and two each from Nepal APF Club and Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club. Three players — Rohit Chand, Sandip Rai and Bharat Khawas — are not affiliated with any club, while Anil Gurung plays in the Indian league.

KATHMANDU: Bagmati Modern College is organising the first Bagmati Modern Inter-college Basketball Championships from Sunday. In all, 22 teams — six in girls and 16 in boys’ sections — are participating in the 10-day event, said the organisers. The winners and runners up from the four-group boys' event will make it to the quarter-finals after the league stage while in the girls' side top two teams will play the title match after the round-robin format.
BBA Cup Football
KATHMANDU: Prime Sports Club is organising the fifth BBA Cup Boys’ Football Tournament at the FIFA Technical Centre, Chyasal from Sunday. In all, 10 BBA Colleges affiliated with Tribhuvan University are participating in the six-day tournament, informed the organisers.
Yunisha, Apsara win
KATHMANDU: Yunisha Moktan and Apsara Moktan of Bouddha Dojo claimed gold medals on the inaugural day of the eighth Bagmati Zone Inter-dojo Karate and Kickboxing Championships. Yunisha beat Sabina Magar of Bagalamukhi in the girls’ 20kg final. In girls’ 25kg title clash, Apsara overcame Kusum Tamang of Naxal Dojo. Anjisha Dhimal of Balaju won the girls’ 30kg gold beating Alista Subedi of Baneshwor.
